Thunder Bantam Featured on the Today Show
MAY 26 2010

A published author at 14, a day with Eva Longoria Parker, and an interview with Hoda and Kathy Lee Gifford on NBC's Today Show...it's no wonder Thunder Bantam, Danny Rosengard was awarded the Commissioners Cup for 2009-10. Not only is this young man a great asset to his Championship team, he's also a great role model for us all.

Danny gained a lot of attention after he wrote a book to help children understand how those with autism are different. Danny's book, The ABC's of Autism (Book for sale), was inspired by his autistic friend Matthew and part of Danny's Mitzvah project when he turned 13 years old. In April, which is Autism Awareness month, Danny was featured on a segment of the Today Show. (click here to see the Today Show Video)

Rosengard Recalls Bantam Championship Run
By Coach Andy Rosengard
MAR 22 2010

For years, San Antonio and Odessa battled for first place. Every year Odessa would come out on top, but San Antonio would give them a game. The rivalry grew as the kids got older. Bantams Win NTXHL Championship
MAR 21 2010

Going into the first game of the Championship series against the Odessa Jackalopes, Bantam Coach, Andy Rosengard, expresssed how challengening he thought the series woulde be for his team. "Odessa has been a tough team and we've only won one game against them all season. Our boys have worked hard and maybe they can pull it together."

The Bantam team did more than just "pull it together" in the Championship series. They won in two straight games, outscoring the Jackalopes 3-2 and 5-4. In this series, Lucas Despins had 4 goals and an assist, Gage Despins had two goals and Danny Rosengard tallied 2 assists. Hunter Clark also added a goal and Eddie Horning had a short-handed game winner in the second game. Darryll Smith was the net-minder in both games.

Also in the Finals, the PeeWee A team faced the Ft. Worth Brahamas in a three game series. Winning the first, but losing the second, the Peewees would face the Brahamas one last time for the title. In a heartbreaking 2-1 loss early Sunday morning, the PeeWee team would head home knowing they gave it their all.

Squirt AA lost in two straight games to the Alliance powerhouse, but went home Champions in our hearts. Winger, Jake Recore summed up the series against the superior Dallas team, "All I can say is that we learned a lot by playing the Alliance. Lots of other teams would have given anything to be in our position."
